Andre Wiltshire started his dramatic quest at the tender age of six at a school’s Christmas pageant playing a beggar dressed in velvet. He then went on to secondary school where he along with others formed the North Ruimveldt Multi-lateral School Drama Club where he acted, directed and produced local and international plays. Wiltshire then went on to join the Theatre Guild workshop facilitated by Anthony Stewart and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in 1981. The Theatre Company in 1982 commenced its first run of the Link Show in which he was cast to play Hamilton Green who was then the Prime Minister. This was his first exposure to the professional arena. Since those 30 years Andre has been involved as a director, actor, writer, producer, workshop facilitator, television talk show host and school teacher. Working on stage, film, radio and television he was able to learn and share his many talents locally and internationally touring the Caribbean, South and North America. Some of the plays he directed include Dracula, One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest and Waiting for Gillian. More recently to his credits he added two Jamacian hit comedies, Common Law and Meh get mi landed, both staged in Toronto and other provinces in Canada. It’s with this variety that he takes on the role of Nigel in Till I Find A Place, produced and directed by the veteran actor/director Shivraj with whom he had worked with numerous times.
