Ronald Hollingsworth

Ronald Andrew Hollingsworth (Till I Find Ah Place) was born in Georgetown, Guyana.In high school he was trained by Bertram Charles a leading playwright and dramatist.In 1983 he joined the Theatre Guild and won the best Newcomer award.In 1984 he started directing one act plays and was awarded the best workshop director for two consecutive years.Ronald received awards for best director; best play and best set for "Blind Goddess" and "Blithe Spirit" in 1988 and 1989.In 1989 he also received the best supporting actor award in "Ceremonies in Dark Old Men."He received best Guyanese Play and Best Set for the play "Watch De Ride" in 1995.His writing career began in 1991 when he scripted his most popular piece "Till Ah Find A Place."In 1992 he wrote the sequel "Childmother - Childfather" and later on the same year "Marriage After Death."

Apart from his theatrical background, Ronald is a trained teacher and holder of a Certificate and a Bachelor's Degree in Education.He is presently attached to the Unit of Allied Arts - Ministry of Education as the Drama Coordinator.He also lectured at the Cyril Potter College of Education - the teacher training institution.Ronald's success in Guyana earned him an invitation to stage one of his plays at the Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.
